Alastair has been bartending for 15+ years, having worked in Manchester and Melbourne before moving to Auckland. He set up Caretaker with his wife Heather Garland in 2016 and since opened Deadshot in 2018. The two cocktail bars host a very wide range of classic cocktails that are chosen based on a flavour description from their customers instead of using a menu. Both bars work upon a strict methodology procured from Milk & Honey, a defining NY institution. Alastair has a passion for spirits and cocktails and has judged at the New Zealand Spirit awards and Drammy's.
